Sainsbury’s has agreed a new 12.5 year lease at its supermarket located in Beckenham, Southeast London.
This significant long-term commitment reinforces the retailer’s dedication to the Beckenham community and ensures continued service for thousands of local customers.
Andrew Bygrave, Managing Director of Odyssey Partners, commented:
“The new lease reflects the enduring strength of this location as a premier retail destination with sustained demand from competing operators seeking representation in the town. This competitive tension, he noted, has helped underpin the terms of the new agreement and demonstrates the ongoing attractiveness of the location to major retailers.
The transaction is indicative of a broader trend in the market, where well-located, convenience-led retail assets continue to perform strongly despite wider sector challenges.”
Beckenham’s blend of residential affluence, connectivity, and established retail provision has ensured it remains a target destination for national occupiers, with Sainsbury’s latest commitment further reinforcing confidence in the town’s long-term retail prospects.
